Sunday Update

I'm thinking about joining the vast number of weekly Sunday-ish memes. I will be posting my book hauls with an emphasis on library finds, reviewing my reading and reviewing from the previous week, and stating my goals for the upcoming week.

My Library Haul:
There is so much buzz about all 3 of these books! The Animal Book and The Real Boy are short-listed for all kinds of 2013 Best-of Awards so I'm really eager to read them. For both titles I had to put in a hold request for a library across the state. I love having the ability to borrow books from far away! Mysterious Benedict Society has been on my TBR list for years. It's a download from the Digital Public Library.

Other Book Loot:
I've been waiting forEVER for Hugh Howey's newest book. He posts a progress meter for each book on his blog so it's like torture waiting for a new one. For this one, Hugh posted each of the 5 sections separately with a week or two in between each. I decided to wait until the full book was released and to buy it as an omnibus. I downloaded the ebook the day it was released, and ordered a signed paperback for my shelves. I'm kind of a Hugh Howey fan...

Books Read Last Week:
* The Book of Lost Things by John Connelly ~ This was the Book of the Month in my Nothing But Reading Challenges Goodreads group
* Hide and Seek by Catherine MacPhail ~ My review for Netgalley
* Sand by Hugh Howey ~ Simply stunning. My favorite Howey novel yet. My review is at Goodreads.

Reading Plans For This Week:
* Finish The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor ~ Our current audiobook. We're on the last disc. It is SO good!
* Finish The Animal Book by Steve Jenkins ~ I'm on page 50 of 207
* Work on Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart ~ This is my current read-now-and-then book. I'm 8% into the ebook right now and really enjoying it
* Read Stolen Into Slavery by Judith Bloom Fradin
* Read Shadow Throne by Jennifer Nielsen ~ SOOOO excited to have the eARC from Scholastic & Netgalley!
