Audiobook Challenge Wrap-Up

In 2013 I read 10 audiobooks. So I set my sights on 11 audiobooks for 2014. To encourage this goal, I joined the Hot Listens 2014 Audiobook Challenge.

This year I enjoyed audiobooks on road trips and while cooking dinner, but I also started walking the dog more often. During the summer we went on a walk nearly every day!

I couldn't believe it when I hit my goal of 11 books in April!

So it was looking like 2014 was The Year of the Audiobook, and I decided to go for broke - the highest level - 30 books.

As of now, with 3 weeks left to go, I have listened to 34 audiobooks! I am currently listening to a 35th, Maniac Magee.

Last year I discovered the incredible narrator, Jim Dale. I read more of his books this year, and I'm eager about an upcoming one for 2015. This year, I also discovered a new favorite narrator - Will Patton.

I first heard him when I read Chasing Lincoln's Killer by James Swanson. I enjoyed his narration so much that I decided to seek out others. So I also read Lincoln's Grave Robbers by Steve Sheinkin and The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater.

I really enjoyed the audiobook challenge, and will definitely do it again next year. Be sure to check out my list of the 34 audiobooks that I have read this year.

    1. Thanks! My favorite thing is using the public library for free audiobooks - both on CDs and digitally.

  4. Great job!! You did awesome this year. I like Jerry Spinelli's books too by the way and have also read Mania Mcgee, which I enjoyed reading!!

I'll be on the look out for audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale... Great narrators make all the difference in the world when listening to audiobooks, don't you think?? I've discovered that Kirby Heyborne and Laurel Merlington are great narrators!!
